Our History and Philosophy In the Spring 1993, American Karate Academy opened its doors with three members who shared the most sincere commitment to a single vision:
"Everyone has the right to learn how to protect himself or herself and become a better person."
While our school has grown, we maintain our family atmosphere and adhere to our original commitment, serving the whole student at all ages and ability levels.
We are a self defense school. Our approach uses martial discipline to develop students into leaders who can manage the daily stress in life and respond appropriately.
We teach classes in English to help simplify the complicated language of the Martial Arts and reduce confusion for the younger belts.
We offer one week of Free Classes! So you can see what works best for you! We also pride ourselves with No Contracts and Low Rates! That way members can focus more on their Martial Arts. And with Unlimited Classes, you can achieve your goals at your individual pace.
We value life-long learning and model the training for our students. Our instructors continue to develop our Academy as we train with other seasoned Masters around the world such as Professor Leon Jay from the United Kingdom.
We hope to share and grow with you through the experiences of our American Karate Academy family.
Schedule of Classes
(Any changes to the existing schedule will be posted in the studio and online.)
We recommend students attend class twice a week for steady progress and success. For best retention, plan to divide the classes up so they are not back-to-back.
We know that kids want to try other sports along with karate. Many times it can be a little overwhelming to do both sports at the same time. We do recommend that if you want to try other sports please continue to come to Karate at least once a week so you do not forget the material. Many people who stop the training for other sports fell like they have gotten behind when they come back to Karate. They feel like they will never get caught back up. This is the main reason we have students drop out of Karate.
Classes are unlimited with your membership. Most students come two to three times a week. We do not advise parents to bring children every night as they will burn them out quickly.
Families may choose the day/time/frequency of classes within each student's assigned age and belt rank.
